E&W was able to pivot around substantial rain delays and a hurricane to deliver high-quality industrial concrete services for a 430,000 square foot warehouse complex in Palmetto, FL.
East & Westbrook (E&W) was able to construct a large tilt-wall project in Florida, recovering weeks of timeline delays on a project that involved not only rain delays, but also weathering Hurricane Ian. E&W maintained rigorous quality standards and impeccable safety statistics throughout the Palmetto construction project, living up to their reputation as a trusted construction partner capable of delivering exceptional results.
East & Westbrook (E&W) has 48+ years of industrial concrete experience and was brought on to perform extensive industrial concrete construction services for a company focused on developing high-quality properties. This repeat client needed a reliable construction partner with expertise in tilt wall construction, tilt panel erection, and large-scale, high-quality industrial concrete work in Palmetto, FL, and knew from experience that E&W was the ideal candidate for this project.
E&W has a proven track record in delivering on professional complex structure projects and maintaining long-term working relationships, and so was brought on to construct 430,000 square feet of industrial warehouse space, including 275,000 square feet of tilt wall structures.
Over the course of 5 months E&W poured over 18,300 cubic yards of concrete and formed, cast, and erected more than 220 tilt panels for warehouse construction in Florida. In this time, our E&W team members also had to contend with 30+ inches of rainfall. This heavy rain meant E&W needed to pivot; with careful planning and coordination, the E&W team members' work schedules were adjusted to begin work days at 2:00 A.M., recovering work timelines when rain prevented progress.
Alongside these rainfall delays, Hurricane Ian meant E&W needed to rapidly demobilize and secure the project site to prevent construction damage and keep team members safe. All in all, Hurricane Ian resulted in a month-long delay for the Palmetto, FL, work site, but with careful planning and rapid re-mobilization of team members, the project was completed within two weeks of the proposed timeline.
With 40 E&W team members working on the Palmetto construction project, alongside multiple subcontractors that E&W’s project management team stepped up to lead, there were zero reportable incidents or injuries in 30,000 man-hours.
E&W goes above and beyond when it comes to safety and will always have a goal of everyone going home safely from every work project, every day. To accomplish this goal with the Palmetto construction project, especially considering the severe weather conditions faced, is a point of pride.
E&W was able to pivot around substantial rain delays and a hurricane to deliver high-quality industrial concrete services for a massive warehouse complex. E&W also stepped up to manage subcontractors on-site for plumbing, mechanical, and electrical work.
By leaning on team members’ expertise and problem-solving skills, E&W was able to deliver excellent results that met the client’s high standards, recovering timelines after substantial delays, all while keeping team members safe at work each day. The Palmetto, FL warehouse complex construction project further cemented a long-standing working relationship with a valued client, furthering E&W’s reputation as an exceptionally dependable construction partner.
