Who Are You Hiring?

A Form Carpenter builds or creates frameworks or molds that retain wet concrete in constructing foundations and other concrete structures. Formwork carpenters assemble manufactured forms made of steel, wood, or heavy plastic. At East & Westbrook, we generally work with Symons forms, Doka forms, and Gate System forms. The work we do is structural in nature; either a structural foundation or a deep pit foundation t that holds back a lot of volume of concrete. Our Form Carpenters play an essential role at East & Westbrook as they are literally building the foundation for everything we do.

A Concrete Finisher is a skilled tradesperson that works with concrete by placing, finishing, protecting, and repairing concrete in engineering and construction projects. At East & Westbrook, we are looking for team members who understand working with 10,000 ft or greater slabs and know how to screed concrete in the middle of a large slab. Our finishers really put the shine on everything we do, with a quality look that is crisp and clean.

Skills Needed:

  • Knowledge of building and construction
  • Knowledge of working with concrete on large projects, not just sidewalks, and driveways
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans
  • The ability to work well with your hands
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Practical skills for operating power tools and machinery

An Equipment Operator (Excavator) is a construction team member trained to use heavy construction machineries, such as cranes, bulldozers, backhoes, forklifts, dump trucks, and hydraulic truck cranes. An excavator’s primary role is to dig up soil and rocks to prepare a site for construction. The job of an Excavator can be highly demanding due to the sensitive nature of the heavy-duty machines. At East & Westbrook, we are looking for individuals that can dig a footer online into grade. They have knowledge of where the spoils piles need to go. We are looking for someone with a keen sense of precision.

Skills Needed:

  • Knowledge of building and construction
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment used in large construction projects (Back Hoe, Bulldozer, Front-End Loader, Graders)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans
  • General knowledge in maintenance of heavy equipment
  • Problem-solving skills

A Rodbuster is a team member who uses machines, equipment, tools, and blowtorches to shape steel rods in concrete projects. This individual shapes the iron rods and mesh for the placement of cement. Along with pliers, our rodbusters wear a wire reel on their belts to tie steel. We are looking for someone that knows about tying steel flat and for walls.

  • Knowledge of building and construction

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs

A Concrete Foreman has primary responsibilities for the day-to-day operations of the crew or multiple projects for all construction projects. Project staffing and selection of required equipment to perform tasks in line with budgeted cost and production schedules are necessary. Safe, efficient production will be a primary concern of this position. Project planning will be necessary to achieve the goals of production and safety, as well as the timely completion of projects.

Skills Needed:

  • 5 plus years of industry experience.  
  • Reads and understands technical information.
  • Strong leadership and supervision.
  • Aptitude in math and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Good communication and organization.    
  • Must be a self-starter, self-motivated, and customer-focused.
  • Must be able to complete STA’s, Equipment Checklists, and complete Hot Work forms not excluding an understanding of the permit processes.
