Cane Run Substation

Substation Projects calls for “Super Sub” for Equipment Foundations

After months of planning, when it came time to begin construction on the LG&E Cane Run Substation, a critical schedule demanded a sub-contractor who could perform. Because East & Westbrook had performed new substation construction and improvements all over the U.S., their crews were up to the challenge.

Over 125 equipment foundations were to be installed in approximately 16 weeks along with some demolition and trench install. E&W’s crews were able to systematically work through the grid of pier foundations and equipment anchor bolts through the use of a robotic total station instrument, some diligent planning, and lots of hard work by our crews.
